Spring - 2012

My last post as a 3 year old teacher - it's a wonderful bitter sweet moment.  In just a few short weeks I will be back teaching Pre-K!  I really enjoyed teaching the 3's but I really missed Pre-K! So here are a few final projects we completed this Spring.

I loved our door project!  They were so easy.  They painted a paper plate with water colors and then I cut a triangle shape at the top and bottom and then I cut out a body part for my little guys to glue on.

My little guys had such a great time with our study of the butterfly life cycle.  From the colored page with different pasta shapes to show  the stages of the butterfly, hand print caterpillars, and then at the top our beautiful butterfly creations made by squeezing paint on one side of a piece of paper, fold, open to hear the Awwws, dry, then cut a butterfly shape and paste a body shape.

This year I've gotten so many of my ideas from Pinterest!  I've spent a lot timing pinning this summer - can't wait for school to start.

Christmas - Easter:)

Boy, this blogging thing is hard:(  Not the blogging but the time to accomplish it! I've been so busy with my little guys.  Christmas and Winter was such a wonderful time.
We were all very excited for Christmas - so we made an angel tear off chain. When all the chains are gone the angel becomes a Christmas tree ornament.

This was a fun and easy project

We love patterns - so we painted a pattern "J" for Jesus for our door decorations.  It turned out very nice.

I love teaching at a Christian school that allows me to share the truth about Christmas and the birth of our Savior, Jesus!
In January we talked about Martin Luther King, Jr. and my little guys hopes and dreams. We also went ice skating - pretend of course with wax paper as we sang:

You skate with me
I'll skate with you
We'll skate together till we turn blue.
123 123 turn around
123 123 twirl around
We'll skate together till we fall down!

My little guys also loved our pretend snowball fight:)  I took my husband's tube socks and rolled them and created a basket full of soft wonderful snowballs. Great fun!

I Love these snowmen!

I made a boot stencil from a file folder. Then they bounced like Tigger with a  sponge on a clothespin .

President's Day projects were a lot of fun. We made log cabins for Abraham Lincoln, George Washington and we talked about telling the truth while we made cherry trees from our arm and hand print.
Valentine animals made from hearts.

Our Valentine "mailboxes" made from grocery bags.  I covered one side with construction paper, folded the top over about 2 inches and stapled. I cut a rectangle for the mail slot and then let my little guys decorate. They loved taking turns being the mail person as they delivered their Valentines.
We all enjoyed an early Spring with our hand print birds and flowers.

I bought wooden crosses at Michaels for a $1 and we glued on orzo and then painted them with Spring colors.  They were added to our classroom Easter bulletin board with angels and a poster of our risen Lord. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture - looked nice.

Our milk jug bunny baskets for our egg hunt.

My little guys had such a wonderful time!
I can't believe our school year is almost over.  I'm having a blast! Most of my little guys have turned four and they are constantly amazing me!!! This took far too long - I must do a better job of updating monthly:)

Thanksgiving Fun

Well... I've spent the past week and half getting to know six of the cutest "little guys" ever!  We've had a lot
fun decorating our classroom for Thanksgiving.  Here are some pictures of our classroom and our Thanksgiving projects.

I asked my "little guys" what we were making?  To see if they remembered - Indian corn.  Well they had so much fun chanting "What are we making?" "Indian corn!"

I sent home card stock feathers and a note asking parents to allow their child to decorate 2 feathers and return to school - our classroom turkey was very cold and needed feathers.  They really enjoyed adding their feathers:)

A little coloring, stickers and a few hand print turkeys with feathers of their choice - Some of my "little guys" didn't want their mat to get dirty and wouldn't eat on them.

Our room was complete with windsock turkeys and fancy hallway turkeys!

And So It Begins:)

Let me begin by saying I love teaching!  I've been out of the classroom since the beginning of the school year.  I teach in a small christian school and the administrator wanted me to help in the office.  I thought I could do it - WRONG!  I was so bored:(   Thankfully, God gave me the desires of my heart - a new teacher for our preschool class decided this was not her thing.  So I said PLEASE - PICK ME:)

And So It Begins - I spent today getting my very small, but cozy, classroom ready.  Well, as ready as I could in four hours.  The door, a bulletin board and a cabinet stuffed full still needs to be done.  I can't wait for Monday -  so my little guys can help me get our room ready for Thanksgiving!  I hope the happenings of my little guys will inspire your teaching heart:)
